I don’t normally post on Saturdays, but I just had to pop in and share what I'll be wearing to today’s LOFT grand opening event, which is being held in the newly expanded Park Royal Centre. Several of you have already confirmed and I can’t wait to see you there. Who else is joining me for an afternoon of refreshments, sweet treats and shopping? Last but certainly not least... this dress! It was definitely love at first sight and I cannot think of a lovelier dress for the holidays. I’ve paired it here with my pretty jeweled belt, which is perfect for dressier holiday occasions. However, I also paired this beauty with my black booties and a leather motto jacket for a fun and edgy look. I can tell this dress & I are going to be very, very happy together!

When it comes to blogging, I’m all about keeping it real. So... on that note, let me tell ya, coming up with this outfit was hella hard. It was just one of those days where I was under-slept, under the weather and couldn't figure out my closet for the life of me. Hello, Mount Everest. Ugh, isn’t that the worst?! Naturally, I took myself to DQ for an extra gooey blizzard and then drowned my sorrows at Anthro. Done and done! ;)

Exciting News + Happy Friday

Well, hello there. I kind of hinted on Twitter the other day, that I'm working on a fun new project. Yup, sure am, and I'm too excited not to share. A quick back story for you guys... currently I run an Etsy shop and an organic online baby store. I've decided to merge the two, rename + re-brand my business, as well as expand my inventory to include beautifully curated gifts, accessories and women's clothes. Guys, I'm over the moon. This has been a long time dream of mine! I'll be sure to instagram a few updates over the coming weeks. The items are all so very gorgeous and I'm excited to get things up and running.

Having said that, I still have lots & lots of work ahead of me. This week, I've been designing the shop, ordering boxes, meeting with suppliers, registering the business name, ordering business supplies and getting my home office in tip-top shape. I'm incredibly wiped, but in the best way possible. There's satisfaction in feeling exhausted and knowing that you're working towards something meaningful.

On that note, happiest of Fridays, friends! And cheers for letting me share!! :) What's everyone up to this weekend? I'm hoping for PJ's, wine, a pedi, and Hart Of Dixie... all weekend long! Cutest show or what?! How do we feel about Zoe & Wade? I find them adorable together!

One of my fashion resolutions for this fall and beyond, is to remix my wardrobe. Nothing revolutionary, I know, but when I first started fashion blogging over at Girl & Closet, I'll be the first to admit I felt pressure to keep everything new and fresh. However, my goal with By The Shore is to have a more laid back, realistic take on blogging. So, expect to see my pieces re-worn several times throughout each season. With that said, I've even started a "remix page" to hopefully inspire you guys, plus keep myself motivated to keep re-inventing my wardrobe. Fun, right?!

And... how holiday perfect is my new fur snood + beaded belt?! Both of which are from LOFT by the way. I just did a major closet overhaul at that store. Their clothes are so, so good! Other than that, it's shaping up to be a good week. Hell or high water, I'm finishing the rest of my pieces for my Etsy shop, hosting a Stella & Dot party on Saturday, and cooking an awesome dinner for my husband. Yes, good times are definitley in the air! ;)

Hello, fellow weekenders! I'm starting off this Saturday with fluffy slippers + a hot cup of coco... my favourite way to start any day. Today, I'm hoping to do some much needed closet sorting. I just did a mega shopping spree at the new LOFT in Park Royal Centre, so I'm making room for lots of new beauties. And then tomorrow Martin & I are heading to a fun event happening at Privilage in Guilford Town Centre. I love this time of year... so many great events. What's your weekend looking like?

Yay! I'm pretty excited to be back with my newly lightened hair. I went for a Balayage treatment just this past weekend and couldn't be happier with the result. Although now, I feel like I've been bit by the blonde bug and want to go even lighter. I have another appointment booked for March so we'll see what me & my hair dresser come up with. But for now, the change has been delightful!

Also, let's talk favourite trends, yeah? I'm absolutely loving the whole monochromatic movement for fall. This is my first time trying it, and I must say there's something undeniably chic & modern about it. I wore this for a day of shopping, lunch and a quick meeting. I felt so perfectly put together. What's your most coveted trend for fall?

I'm absolutely bananas over this lace pencil skirt, this sweater is so chic & cozy (perfect with a skirt or great pair of skinnies), and this just might be the most perfect holiday dress. My love for all things glitter & gold is in full swing and I'm blaming it on the approaching holidays. How can you not get swept up, right?! It's just so darn fun. Currently, I'm oogling this fabulous gold metallic pullover (gorgeous with skinnies or a pleated midi) and this sequin and lace top (perfect with a cigarette pant or pencil skirt) both of which are from Banana Republic.

And don't even get me started on the polka dot flats and layered sweater which I've featured above. Ah, so good!! I'll admit both are a wee bit over my budget. But, I'm keeping my fingers crossed they'll end up on sale or make their way to the clearance section. Hunting down sales? It's kind of my thing. Oh, and one last thing.. who's inviting me over for glitter donuts?!! 

diy moisturizing mask

Hello! Today I wanted to share a really simple mask with you guys. You'll need some plain yogurt (I use a higher fat Greek yogurt) + honey and freshly squeezed lemon. This is a great mask for stimulating collagen production, tightening pores as well as adding tons of moisture to your skin. I did this mask just last night and loved the results. I also finished it off with one of my favourite moisturizers, Bio Beaute by Nuxe!

You'll need:

- 2 tablespoons plain Greek or high fat yogurt

- 1 tablespoon honey

- 1 teaspoon lemon juice

Mix your ingredients together until well blended and smooth. Apply to a clean and dry face for about 10-15 minutes. Then wash off with a warm washcloth. Your skin will feel so fantastic!

I normally shy away from wearing two animal print pieces together, but I loved pairing my animal print flats with Cee's gorgeous scarf. I think the added stripes helped break it up a little as well, plus hello, who doesn't love a fun pattern mix, right?! It's such a great way to jazz up an otherwise simple & casual outfit. 

Speaking of casual, we've been lazy bums these past few days. Most evenings you'll find us in our PJ's, making homemade pizza and marathoning our favourite shows. Something about this colder weather makes me crave all things cozy. However, tonight we're heading into the city to attend a fun shopping event at FCUK which is being hosted by the beautiful Jen, of the blog Her Waise Choice. Can't wait to catch up with my favourite bloggers, as well as have an excuse to throw on a great pair of heels. I'll be sure to post a few photos on instagram from the night! xo
